Key Stages of the Project
Quality work requires thinking through the project start to finish. Here are the basic stages of each project:

Identifying Lead:
- Find the causes of damage
- Test to determine and/or assume if lead paint is present and adhere to all the lead-safe work practice requirements
- Prioritize work

Before starting:
- A review of the project and scope of work with homeowner to discuss tasks and answer questions.
- Homeowners can aid the project greatly by clearing work areas of home contents as best as possible (ex. take curtains down, box up children’s toys, box up breakables, box up clothes and remove items from walls, etc.)

Work:
- Set up work area adding containment and covering all work areas in plastic to protect from lead dust and damage
- Correct items identified as lead by various methods; including but not limited to: enclosure, remove and replace, friction control, and/or paint stabilization
- Complete the project using safe work practices

Finish the Project:
- Clean up thoroughly including HUD cycle cleaning with use of specialized practices to remove training dust hazards
- Dispose of waste safely and according to federal and state requirements
- Check quality of work and correct any issues
